Annai Velankanni Hospital has been awarded a certificate as a “Mother & Baby Friendly Hospital” by UNICEF and IMA-TYNSB, in accordance with MBFHI guidelines.
The NICU (Neonatal Critical Care Unit) is run by dedicated neonatologists. It cares for premature babies, extremely low birth weight babies, very ill newborn infants, and those requiring intensive care and monitoring. Our step-down Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) caters to preterm infants who are breastfeeding and rooming in with their mothers. These babies, though growing steadily, require monitoring before they can be safely discharged.
The team consists of neonatologists, paediatricians, paediatric surgeons, duty medical officers, and trained nurses in newborn care available round the clock.
