The Department of Accident and Emergency at AVH provides comprehensive Emergency services to patients. The department is run by a group of consultants from various departments, such as Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon, Intensivists, Anesthetists, General Surgeons, Obstetrician, Paediatricians & Pulmonologists dedicated to resuscitation and stabilization of patients in acute and gravely sick conditions. The main goal of the department is timely standardized care and to reduce mortality and morbidity of patients.

The department is equipped to handle all kinds of emergencies, such as Trauma, Heart Attacks, Stroke, Poly Trauma, Poison, Respiratory failures, Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS), Multi-organ failures, etc.

The department also manages mass casualties and disasters. A fully equipped ACLS Ambulance with state of Art Ventilator support is available around the clock. The retrieval team of doctors, nurses & technicians accompany patients who require ICU support and request transfer from and to other hospitals.
